    Spring Branch, Texas is twenty-one miles northwest of New Braunfels in the hills and is located in western Comal County. Originally settled by Germans in the 1800s, the quiet community has its namesake from a spring fed creek that flowed into the Guadalupe River.  After the completion of Canyon Dam and the filling of nearby Canyon Lake in the mid-1960s, it is estimated that the population grew to 200 in 1990.   Spring Branch has witnessed tremendous growth in the recent years.
